Kronborg Slot - Casemates
The area around Kronborg is large, so you have to be prepared to go / drive longer distances. From the official parking area, where there are also 2 disabled parking spaces, and up to Kronborg, there are approximately 1000 m. There are cobblestone and chaos stone sections supplemented with two rows of tiles (tramways) all the way, which makes it a bit more even to travel for guests with rollators, in wheelchairs etc. There are not many seating options along the way. Guests arriving by car with a disabled parking permit can drive all the way to the castle and park closer to the entrance - see the explanations below. Access to the casemates is through the visitor entrance to the castle. From the ground floor there are stairs both up and down to Holger Danske, who sits in the vaults under the castle. From the vaults you have to walk a short distance (setts and coblestones) to a steep staircase down to the casemates. There are no other access routes. The casemates consist of narrow corridors, very uneven pavement, dark rooms lit only by oil lamps and a ceiling height through openings of 130 cm. You must be able to walk and see well to visit the casemates.
