Kronborg in Helsingør at the entrance to Øresund is one of Northern Europe's most significant Renaissance castles. It is also the most famous Danish castle, known worldwide from Shakespeare's Hamlet, and is visited by approximately 200,000 Danish and foreign visitors each year. Kronborg's history is exciting and dramatic. We recommend that you familiarize yourself thoroughly with the conditions before your visit, as, for example, access to the castle and the casemates requires good vision and good walking conditions. The area around Kronborg is large, so you have to be prepared to go / drive longer distances. The distance from the official parking area, where there are also 2 disabled parking spaces, and up to Kronborg are approximately 1000 m. There are cobblestone and setts sections supplemented with two rows of tiles (tramways) all the way, which makes it a bit more even to travel for guests with walkers, in wheelchairs etc. There are not many seating options along the way. Guests with a disabled parking permit can drive all the way to the castle and park closer to the entrance - see the explanations below. Access to the castle and the exhibitions in the different rooms and halls can only be done if you can walk on stairs. Access to the individual floors is via a wide spiral staircases. There is no lift at the castle. It is also worth noting that there are only toilet facilities on the ground floor with entrance from the castle courtyard. There are no toilet facilities on the individual floors / lengths.
