There are 4 disabled parking spaces at Staldgården approx. 100 m from the entrance to Koldinghus. The parking area belongs to the Danish Palaces and Culture Authority and everyone must pay parking fee – including cars with a disabled parking permit. It is possible to drive right up to the castle entrance to drop off a guest, but the car cannot be parked there. You have to return to a parking lot. Guests with walking impairment and guests who use wheelchairs are welcomed at the entrance to Koldinghus by the staff. The staff can be contacted on tel. 2381 9520 upon arrival. As there are stairs up to the reception via the main entrance, guests who cannot climb stairs are let into the courtyard and via an alternative entrance you can enter the shop and ticket sales area. At the reception, where you buy tickets, you will be given a visitor's guide and will be guided on how best to get around the castle. In addition, you get a card with a phone number to the staff, which you can call when you need help. Throughout the exhibition, there is a need to have a ramp laid out in 3 places and there are a couple of doors that need to be unlocked if you are to be able to get through the exhibition level-free. Level-free access to the castle's facilities starts when you are admitted through the door to Frederik IV's Hall (no. 34). From there, there is access through the south wing to the elevator in the east wing. The elevator runs to all floors - except the tower and the dungeon. You can move level-free on all floors, but must return to the elevator after each floor to get to the next floor. The accessible toilet is on the ground floor by the lift. Koldinghus has one wheelchair available, which can be borrowed free of charge. This can be booked in advance on tel. 2381 9520.
