Rosenborg Castle
There are no parking facilities at Rosenborg Castle. If you arrive by car, you must use public parking in the area. In the link below to "kort over området" you will find an overview of disabled parking spaces in the area. There is a cobblestone pavement from the gate into the area to the ticket office and the castle. Bardour stone has been laid in two tracks on some of the way. In the vault, you will find the ticket office on one side and the cloakroom on the other. There are stairs (6 steps) up to both functions. There are handrails on both sides and the doors are always open. At the entrance to the castle there is a staircase with 7 steps and a step (12 cm) at the door into the building. There is a full-length handrail on one side (right) and some of the way on the other side. The castle has 3 floors and there is only access via the spiral staircase inside the castle. There is a staircase with 7 steps up to the spiral staircase, which leads to both the 1st and 2nd floors. There are 18 steps to the 1st floor and 28 further steps up to the 2nd floor. You have to go up and down the same stairs, so there is often traffic in both directions. All doors in the castle are open or there are only openings without doors. There are old, historic door steps in several openings, which are 3-5 cm high, worn crooked by the ravages of time and not levelled. You must be aware of the risk of tripping. There are fine passage widths in the corridors through the castle, but there are quite a few objects and furniture in the corridors and in the individual rooms, which you have to navigate around. You must be prepared for the fact that there is dim lighting in several of the rooms in the castle for the sake of the objects on display and the preservation of the castle. There are no toilet facilities in the castle. There is a toilet building next to the castle, which has women's, men's and a smaller disabled toilet.
