Frederiksborg Slot & Museum - Riddersalen
Frederiksborg castle was built between 1600 and 1620 by King Christian IV. In order to make way for the new renaissance castle, most of an older complex of buildings, which King Frederick II had acquired in 1560, was torn down. The buildings are situated on three islands in the castle lake. On the southernmost island stand the remains of Frederick II's original complex.
