Folketinget

Christiansborg Palace is the centre of Danish democracy. This is where the 179 MPs meet to discuss and pass the laws used to govern the country. This is also where more than 80.000 people come every year to meet politicians and see where Danish democracy is exercised. On a daily basis, the Danish Parliament is a busy workplace for about 1.200 people all of whom are involved with the political process: Staff employed by the political parties, civil servants, journalists and others. If you would like to visit the Folketing this can be arranged on Sundays or during public holidays and school holidays. On these days you collect tickets at the reception desk at the main entrance from 09.00 am for the conducted tours for tourists on the same day. Conducted tours on Sundays or during public holidays are 12.00 (danish), 13.00 (eng) and 14.00 (danish). Conducted tours during school holidays week 7 and week 42 (Monday - Friday) in danish are 11.00, 12.00, 13.00 and 14.00. Conducted tours during the summer (Monday - Friday) from 1/7-11 - 7/8-11 are 11.00 (danish), 12.00 (eng), 13.00 (danish), 14.00 (eng). Every saturday closed. All tours are free.
