Egeskov Castle - Parking, entrance and path system
When you arrive at Egeskov Castle, you will find a parking area with space for over 1,400 cars. The 6 disabled parking spaces are located right at the entrance to the park, where you will also find ticket sales and restrooms. The area is large, so you should be prepared for longer distances. The area is relatively flat with only a few inclines, which are marked on an overview map. Wheelchair users, in particular, should take note of these sections. There are alternative paths available that can be used instead. If you have difficulty walking, it is a good idea to bring a wheelchair, walker, or any other aid that works over longer distances. It is also possible to borrow a wheelchair. Reservations can be made at the ticket sales during opening hours by calling +45 6227 1625. If you have mobility issues, you can also rent an electric scooter. The rental price per day is DKK 70, and you will need to provide identification (such as a passport) until the scooter is returned. There is high demand for electric scooters, so it is recommended to reserve in advance. In general, there are good accessibility options for most exhibitions and outdoor experiences. However, wheelchair users and those with limited mobility should note that the castle itself is not accessible for those who cannot walk up stairs. The castle is listed as a heritage site, and it has not yet been possible to adapt it to the modern accessibility standards we are familiar with today. There are restrooms located in several places throughout the garden, and accessible toilets are available at four locations.
