NaturBornholm
NaturBornholm is an attraction located in the middle of Bornholm in Aakirkeby. Here you can experience and learn more about Bornholm's distinctive nature both in the present and in the past - all the way back to the dinosaurs and the ice age. There is an entrance to the parking areas from Grønningen. The first part of the parking area is paved with crushed granite and does not contain any marked disabled parking spaces. The 6 parking spaces for cars with a disabled parking permit are located right at the entrance to the activity center. To get to the disabled parking spaces, you must use the cemented access road that has been paved from the first parking area to the main entrance. Please note that there is also pedestrian traffic on this section. The pavement on the disabled parking spaces at the main entrance consists of crushed granite. There are 2 double glass doors with a windbreak in between at the main entrance to the building. The doors must be opened manually and have a total free passage width of 170 cm. The first door opens outwards and the second door opens inwards. After the main entrance you arrive at the foyer, which is equipped with ticket sales and a museum shop, a café, a disabled toilet and a staff-operated elevator to specialist rooms on the first floor. The exhibition and public facilities are all on the ground floor. After the ticket sales, the exhibition starts. Please note that the first part of the exhibition goes through a “cave” with a winding walkway and a passage width of max. 90 cm. The ceiling height also changes and is not everywhere min. 210 cm. The trip through the cave contains a number of sound and light effects and a section with a conveyor belt on the floor in partial darkness. For some, it may be a good idea to take the route around this part of the exhibition. The rest of the exhibition is easier to access. The two cinemas in the exhibition are both equipped with induction loop. Part of the exhibition takes place outdoors in the area around the building. Here you will find the café area, playground and various activity and try-it-yourself stations. The paving on the paths and seating areas consists of crushed granite.
